Meet Gurvinder

Gurvinder Virk, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Northern Medical Group, Primary Care Division, in Fishkill, Hopewell Junction, Poughkeepsie, and Wappinger Falls, New York. Gurvinder personalizes each patient's care, properly addressing concerns and offering concrete solutions. 

Gurvinder has had a passion for health care since childhood, leaving her with a desire to uplift her community. As such, she attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Biology. Around the same time, she also earned a second bachelor's in nursing from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York.

Gurvinder continued through higher education, obtaining her family nurse practitioner master's from Mount Saint Mary College. She demonstrates her expertise through her many medical interests, which include acute care, hematology-oncology, and internal medicine. 

Gurvinder volunteers and maintains her membership with several organizations, such as the Wappingers Intercultural Women’s Association, the International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Outside of work, Gurvinder likes spending time with her family and dog, and participating in the community she works so diligently to care for.
